If you’re involved in construction, property or infrastructure you’ll probably already aware that there’s a buzz around Brisbane. Between now and a target date of 2025, the city is being transformed by major construction projects worth about $46 Billion. At no time in this state’s history have such significant projects been undertaken at a similar time. And when completed it will change the way Brisbane residents and visitors live their lives.
The Queensland government is taking some credit for the buzz and increased optimism, with Deputy Premier and Treasurer Jackie Trad pointing to this “once-in-a-generation” $46 billion infrastructure spend and booming commodity industries.
From waterfront precincts, to railways, tunnels, entertainment venues, hotels, runways and more, the list of major infrastructure and construction projects is breathtaking. This will create thousands of specialist jobs during the construction phase, something Capstone is proud to be involved with.
Here’s a list of projects compiled by the QLD government as part of their #BNE2025 initiative:
- Brisbane Airport – 2nd Runway
- Brisbane Live Precinct
- Brisbane Metro
- Brisbane Quarter
- Brisbane Showgrounds
- Cross River Rail
- Gabba Precinct Upgrade
- Howard Smith Wharfs
- International Cruise Terminal
- Millennium Square
- Northshore
- Queen’s Wharf
- Southbank Southpoint
- Waterfront Precinct
