Engineering

The Role A fast-growing residential construction company based in South East Queensland is seeking an experienced RPEQ Structural Engineer to join their in-house team. The business operates a proprietary panelised concrete building system and is on a clear growth trajectory toward delivering 500 homes per year.

This is an embedded, hands-on role working directly within a production and construction team environment — not a traditional consulting position. You will play a key role in the design, certification, and ongoing evolution of a scalable, innovative building system.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Certification
  • Provide RPEQ certification for residential designs and structural systems
  • Design and review precast concrete wall panels
  • Design footings, slabs, and structural connections
  • Develop panel-to-panel and panel-to-slab interfaces
  • Engineer second-storey and modular elements
  • Ensure compliance with the NCC and relevant Australian Standards

Project Delivery
  • Support multiple concurrent builds across South East Queensland
  • Review site conditions and adapt designs accordingly
  • Resolve site issues with practical, timely solutions
  • Liaise with site supervisors, certifiers, and external consultants
  • Build internal engineering capability and documentation
  • Develop standard design libraries and pre-engineered solutions
  • Establish QA and documentation systems
  • Integrate engineering processes into internal workflows and software

About You

Essential
  • RPEQ certification (mandatory)
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction
  • Proven experience with concrete design

Preferred
  • Experience in precast or modular construction
  • Background in high-volume housing delivery
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles
  • Practical, solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to work on the tools

What’s on Offer
  • A key leadership role within a high-growth business
  • Direct involvement in scaling to 500 homes per year
  • The opportunity to shape and own a novel building system
  • Competitive salary package with long-term incentive potential
  • An entrepreneurial team environment where your contribution matters
