A temporary contract role has arisen for an up to 2-year period, reporting to the Commercial Property Manager and assisting with highly developed property expertise towards efficient delivery of property acquisitions and other property services related to Council transport and infrastructure projects.
The Senior Officer Property Acquisitions will take a lead role in seeking approvals, negotiating acquisitions and transacting dealings for just terms compensation matters for infrastructure projects in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements and Council’s policies and decisions.
Your key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Manage end-to-end acquisition processes including valuations, negotiations, and documentation for properties and easements for transport and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct specialised conveyancing processes such as drafting contracts for acquisition and disposal of land, preparation of easements and covenants and like documents, and other property legal duties
- Provide specialist research, information and recommendations in relation to property related due diligence for key transport and infrastructure projects.
- Interpret complex property-related documents such as valuations, town planning advice, and legal materials.
- Apply strong project management principles to monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of the property acquisition strategy for key transport and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure strategic alignment and consistency.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality business documents including reports, briefs, discussion papers and activity registers (e.g., stakeholder engagement, risk, and progress)
As expected, you will also possess relevant degree level qualifications n property conveyancing or law related disciplines.
