Senior Manager Senior Manager Strategic Portfolio
Growth doesn’t happen by accident.
Liverpool City Council is building something different - an Office of the CEO – to activate opportunity by capitalising on strategic opportunities, driving revenue generation and optimising the property portfolio.
As capital of Southwest Sydney and home to over 250,000 people with a projected population of 352,000 by 2046, Liverpool is building a reputation as a globally connected city with the addition of the new Western Sydney International Airport.
A shining example of transformation, sustainability and renewal, the community is forging a strong local identity, as one of the state’s oldest local government areas whilst being one of its newest cities.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity in a unique organisation.
As Senior Manager Strategic Portfolio reporting directly into the CEO, the office brings together the three powerful levers of strategic opportunities, revenue generation and the property portfolio. By aligning these three areas under the direction of the Senior Manager Strategic Portfolio and the office of the CEO, Liverpool is able to move faster, think commercially and act with real intent.
This is not a typical managing services, business-as-usual government role. Rather it is an opportunity for an individual to have real impact – acting for and behalf of the CEO – shaping the cities economic future.
You will lead the delivery of large city shaping projects and will be a key strategic ambassador bridging the gap between council, government agencies, investors, business and the community.
About You
Commercially aware, you will be an outcomes focused leader with deep experience in stakeholder engagement, project management and delivery and as well as risk, governance and financial frameworks.
It is a role that will suit an individual who is prepared to challenge the status quo and deliver real change and innovation all the time whilst championing a culture of continuous improvement.
As would be expected of such a role, highly developed communication and advocacy skills are essential. Experience of and with the application and interpretation of the just terms Compensation Act would be beneficial as would demonstrated experience in property and contract negotiation.
A deep understanding of the local government sector is not a pre-requisite.
Liverpool City Council is on a path of generational growth - be a part of its success.
