About the Role
This is a senior, facilities management role with a clear electrical and utility focus. Joining their in-house Facilities team, you will be responsible for delivering best-practice FM services across landside and airside assets at both airports, with a particular emphasis on embedded electricity networks, solar assets, and utility-intensive infrastructure.
Working closely with Infrastructure, Energy, Property, and Aviation Operations teams, you’ll manage building services, statutory compliance, maintenance programs, contractor performance, and tenant interfaces – all within a uniquely regulated aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities management
- Focussed on Electrical infrastructure services (HV, LV & Solar), you will be the subject matter expert ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of services across building assets at both airports
- Manage hard and soft services contractors to agreed SLAs, budgets, and compliance obligations
- Plan and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and lifecycle cost
- Maintain compliance registers including AFSS, backflow, hazardous materials, and statutory inspections
- Review project handovers and ensure asset data, O&M manuals, and certifications are captured and maintained
- Obtain Airport Building Controller approvals for FM works where required under the Airports Regulations
Embedded networks & utilities
- Act as the key FM interface for assets connected to embedded electricity and solar networks
- Coordinate maintenance activities impacting substations, switch rooms, metering, and tenant connections
- Ensure facilities works, tenant fitouts, and contractor activities do not compromise network safety or compliance
- Assist with compliance documentation relevant to embedded networks (operating protocols, installation management plans, authority-to-commence processes)
- Support incident response and investigations related to utilities or electrical infrastructure
Contractor & works management
- Procure, induct, and manage contractors in accordance with AMG frameworks and WHS requirements
- Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Manage minor capital works and FM-led projects, including scoping, RFQs, delivery, and close-out
Financial & commercial management
- Operate within approved operational and capital maintenance budgets
- Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and cost variations within delegation
- Monitor cost performance and provide clear reporting on maintenance expenditure and trends
Risk, compliance & safety
- Implement regular inspections, audits, and hazard identification programs
- Ensure all FM and embedded-network-adjacent works comply with WHS legislation, Australian Standards, and Airports regulatory requirements
- Ensure incidents, hazards, and near misses are reported and closed out in accordance with AMG systems
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior FM or hard-services role
- Strong experience managing building services contractors and statutory compliance
- Demonstrated exposure to utility-intensive assets or embedded networks (electricity, solar, HV/LV environments)
- Proven stakeholder, tenant, and contractor management in complex operational environments
- Strong financial and budget management skills
- High attention to detail and compliance mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proactive, collaborative, and safety-focused approach
- Class C Driver’s Licence
Desirable
- Direct experience with embedded electricity networks, metering systems, or energy infrastructure
- Experience in airports, industrial estates, logistics, or similarly regulated environments
- Experience supporting capital works or infrastructure-led projects from an FM perspective
- Trade or tertiary qualification in Facilities, Engineering, Building, or Infrastructure Management
- Electrical or utilities-related exposure highly regarded
