Our client is a well established, privately owned aged care/retirement provider with a substantial portfolio across the eastern seaboard and a strong ongoing development pipeline. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Development/Project Manager, or a candidate with a blend of Development Manager and Senior Project Manager experience, to join their in house development team.
About the role
- Take responsibility for greenfield development projects from inception through to completion, working closely with SDM.
- Manage external project managers, architects and consultants to achieve program, budget and quality outcomes
- Work closely with senior development and property leadership, with two greenfield developments in Melbourne's eastern suburbs as an immediate priority, one currently under construction and one progressing through town planning
- Support the GM of development with portfolio wide due diligence work, including highest and best use assessments and land acquisition activities
- Manage projects through design, procurement, construction, safety, contract administration and financial control (you will input into the feasibility but the head of the division manages these)
- Managing external PM’s across projects who also act as the Superintendent.
- Work with the internal teams (ops and asset management) to ensure successful transition to a live operating environment
- Due to the national portfolio this role may require travel to Adelaide at times (once a month for a day or two)
- Flexible working c4 days in the office – understanding of drop offs and pick ups when required.
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Architecture
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a project or development management role (consultancy experience would be highly regarded as well as experience working for a developer)
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects, consultants and contractors simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint and Excel
- Aged care or health sector experience highly regarded, though not essential, similar asset classes such as hospitals or operational assets with non property tenants
