We’re seeking a Planning Manager to join our client’s property and development team in Melbourne. This crucial role focuses on managing planning, approvals, and tenure for their sites across the Southern States.

Your day will involve:
- Regional Oversight : Oversee planning for our clients assets/developments in VIC, TAS and SA. Provide planning expertise and manage all statutory approvals and encroachment issues.
- Consultant Management : Engage and direct consultants for specialized planning needs, ensuring project requirements are met and approvals are secured efficiently.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a primary contact with state and local governments for site approvals and negotiate outcomes in line with our clients objectives.
- Application & Submission Leadership : Prepare and submit development applications (DA), clearing permits, and other relevant approvals to protect and expand the clients assets.
- Team Support & Collaboration : Work closely with a diverse internal team of town planners, engineers, technical specialists development specialists to align on project goals, supporting the team from the point of identification, obtaining the permit and supporting the implementation/delivery.
- Planning Expertise : Proven experience in town planning, minimum 6 years (experience in extractive industry planning is beneficial, but not essential) ideally working for a consultancy, looking to transition to the developer/client in a fast paced professional environment.
- Approval and Permit Knowledge : Strong familiarity with development applications, regulatory negotiations, and securing approvals.
- Communication Skills : Skilled in engaging stakeholders and coordinating with external project teams, with the ability to influence and drive successful planning outcomes.
- Hands-on Attitude : A proactive, can-do approach, with the ability to work well with a team and collaborate effectively across the business.

This role offers flexibility working three days in the office/travel to sites and 2 days working from home. A drivers license is essential for travel regionally when required and make site visits to engage with local authorities and stakeholders directly.
