Head of College/CEO - St Albert’s College – Unbeatable Community, Unforgettable Experience.

St Albert’s (Albie’s) is the only independently run college at the University of New England. With an emphasis on Christian values and with a true family atmosphere, Albie’s provides a unique environment for living and learning.

Heaven in the High Country

The hub of the famed New England High Country, the elegant university town of Armidale boasts spectacular waterfalls & gorges, world-heritage national parks, cool-climate vineyards, wide, leafy streets and heritage architecture - all mixed with modern cafes and restaurants. Ideally located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, with regular flights into Armidale regional airport and a direct train line to Sydney, connectivity could not be easier.

A fabulous opportunity now exists for an experienced and innovative Head of College/CEO to lead Albie’s on a journey of change and revitalisation.

The Role
This is a unique change opportunity for a dynamic, community focused leader in a unique lifestyle location.
The position title - Head of College/CEO - evidences the college’s commitment to combining tradition with a modern and forward-thinking vision – More than a place to live…. a place to grow.

The primary purpose of the role will be to work towards achieving the stated college vision,

‘To be a leading university residential College shaping courageous, committed, emotionally intelligent and engaged citizens.’

Reporting to the Chairman of the Board, the position exists within an educational, religious and
residential context and covers multiple responsibilities and duties. In summary you will work with both internal and external stakeholders on the formulation and delivery of the college’s strategic direction together with ensuring long-term financial sustainability. Further the role will embed a culture of continuous improvement in the organisation and will provide innovative and inspiring leadership.

About You
As a creative thinker, you will be comfortable generating alternatives, visualising new possibilities, challenging assumptions and opening yourself up to new information. A highly regarded leader, you will have a history of leading organisations and communities through periods of growth and change, building cultures that both you and the community are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes.

As would be expected of such a role, highly developed communication and advocacy skills are essential, as is the ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholder groups.

Familiarity of the education sector, whilst beneficial, is not essential and as such the Board is eager to engage with candidates with fresh ideas and experience from other sectors.

St Albert’s College is embarking on a period of change and revitalisation, the results of which will provide both opportunities and challenges. Help lead this journey.
