Established Commercial Builder | Education, Aged Care & Community
Our client is a well-established Melbourne commercial builder with 35 years of history, a $100M turnover and a strong pipeline of D&C work across education, aged care, health and community sectors. Based in Melbourne’s Western suburbs, they’re looking to appoint a D&C Project Manager.
About the role
This is a true Design & Construct PM role, meaning you'll own the process from concept through to completion. You'll be coordinating architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors, managing the design programme alongside delivery, and making sure subbies understand their obligations in a D&C environment before problems arise on site.
What you'll be responsible for
- Managing full D&C delivery - design phase through to handover
- Coordinating architects, engineers and consultants
- Scoping, procurement and subcontractor management in a D&C context
- Ensuring subbies are briefed on design obligations and shop drawing requirements
- Budget, programme and compliance management
- Working within a PM/CA team model across institutional projects $10M–$60M+
What we're looking for
- A genuine D&C PM background, not a traditional PM who has done occasional D&C work
- Strong project list of D&C delivered work (education, institutional, community, industrial all considered)
- Solid understanding of the design process, consultant coordination and scoping
- Commercial awareness - managing budgets, variations, compliance and programme
- Comfortable holding subcontractors accountable to design deliverables
