We are working with a government client delivering complex capital works projects across a nationally significant precinct. As part of their commitment to safety and quality, they are seeking an experienced Site Safety and Quality Officer to support the delivery team across a diverse portfolio of works.
This client-side role offers the opportunity to influence contractor performance and improve safety and quality outcomes across a range of heritage, infrastructure, and building upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and participate in contractor site inductions, verifying General Construction Induction (White Card) qualifications.
- Review contractor WHS, Environmental and Quality Management Plans and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Conduct site-based safety assurance reviews, monitor compliance, and report on performance.
- Collaborate with project teams and Principal Contractors to improve on-site safety practices.
- Investigate site incidents and assist in analysis, reporting, and close-out of hazards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safety systems, processes, and documentation.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction safety or quality roles (client-side or principal contractor background ideal).
- Current Driver’s License
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, systems, and auditing procedures.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or similar).
- Demonstrated experience preparing reports and safety documentation.
