The Role
Power Systems Engineers with varying levels of experience (between Senior and Principal level or 3 to 10 years' experience will be considered) to work across the full lifecycle of projects. In more detail the role involves analytical, interpretive, and constructive thinking with a significant degree of evaluative judgement. It also requires an in-depth understanding of transmission planning, power system control and operation, as well as an appreciation of the commercial aspects of grid connection and the commercial impact of different technical grid outcomes. Duties will include;
- Due diligence on grid feasibility
- Connection studies and modelling
- Registration
- Commissioning
- Operational compliance and maintenance
Candidate should have experience in at least half of the below;
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical/power system engineering with 3-10 years of experience in a similar role
- National Electricity Rules (NER)
- The National Electricity Market (NEM) and the electrical power grid in Australia.
- The Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM)
- PSS/E, and/or PSCAD, and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Experience in working with AEMO, NSPs, grid consultants, OEMs
