The Prisoners Aid Association of NSW (PAA NSW) has been supporting people with lived experience and their families for over 120 years. We provide practical assistance, advocacy, and reintegration support to help reduce reoffending and strengthen communities.
The Role
PAA NSW are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Director, you will contribute to:
- Governance & Oversight – ensuring accountability, compliance, and strategic direction.
- Fundraising & Partnerships – supporting the financial sustainability of PAA NSW and leveraging your networks.
- Advocacy & Influence – acting as an ambassador and champion for people with lived experience and their families.
- Specialist Input – contributing your expertise (e.g., legal, finance, justice system, fundraising, social services, communications) and dedicating time to projects in your area of specialty.
- Commitment to social justice and PAA NSW’s mission.
- Understanding of NFP governance and willingness to contribute actively.
- Skills in at least one area of specialist knowledge.
- Ability to advocate, fundraise, and represent the Association externally.
- Approx. 6–8 hours per month for Board meetings, reading, and committees.
- Additional time contribution in your area of expertise.
- Make a lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities.
- Collaborate with a dedicated and values-driven Board.
- Use your professional expertise to support social change.
- This is a voluntary role.
