The Role
Senior finance role with responsibility for technical accounting, financial reporting, and strategic advisory. This senior position involves hands-on financial and management reporting responsibilities within our real estate group and managing a small team.
Key responsibilities are:
- Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and provide comprehensive commentary on portfolio performance, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting standards.
- Oversee technical accounting matters, including consolidations, acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Lead the preparation and submission of accounting papers on key issues such as property valuations, lease accounting, and financial instruments, collaborating with auditors and external advisors as necessary.
- Manage and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Drive the development of accounting policies related to property and trust accounting, ensuring they are robust and adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Review and refine the financial and commercial structures of new joint ventures and special purpose vehicles (SPVs), ensuring they are aligned with strategic and commercial objectives.
- Prepare quarterly Board papers and offer strategic insight into investment analysis and financial performance for both Investors and the Board.
- Monitor financial covenants for debt facilities, ensuring compliance and providing strategic insight into covenant performance.
- Provide expert advice on consolidation processes and the preparation of financial statements for group entities, ensuring clarity and transparency in reporting.
You will be CA/CPA qualified with 10+ years of accounting experience, strong technical technical skills and ideally some property sector experience.
