LinkedIn reveals where Australians want to work in 2019

LinkedIn has released its “top companies to work for” list for 2019. These 25 companies are the most sought after employers in Australia, that have successfully created companies and employer brands that resonate with job seekers.

The list looks at four main pillars: interest in the company, engagement with the company’s employees, job demand and employee retention. Congratulations to all of the featured employers.
The list excludes LinkedIn and Microsoft as well as all non-profits, staffing and recruiting firms,  educational and governmental institutions. To be eligible, companies must have had at least 500 employees and demonstrate flat or positive growth. Here are the top 25 to work for in Australia.

1. Westpac Group
Westpac is Australia’s first and oldest bank and is one of Australia’s “big four” banks. The Westpac vision has been to be one of the world’s greatest service companies helping their customers, communities, and people to prosper and grow. They offer a range of benefits including free nutrition advice, free employee counseling and coaching service for employees and their family, access to wellbeing resources, training and development.

2. National Australia Bank
NAB believes in people with ideas and dreams and wants its employees to achieve their aspirations. NAB headquarters is in Melbourne and offer many health & insurance benefits, training programs and graduate career options.

3. Australia and New Zealand Bank
More commonly known as ANZ, the company employs more than 50,000 staff across its headquarters in Melbourne and internationally. Employee benefits include discounts or deals on banking, gym memberships, health insurance, internet plans and car finance.

4. Commonwealth Bank
Ranked second in LinkedIn’s 2018 list, Australia’s multinational bank has policies around gender equality. At latest count, women made up almost 58 percent of the workforce, with 44 percent at manager level and above.

5. Lendlease
Lendlease is an international company with an Australian heritage and their headquarters is in Sydney. Purposefully seeking to hire people who share their vision, Lendlease is known for making a positive impact in the industry with their sustainable practices and innovations.

6. PwC Australia
With offices in WA, South Australia, Victoria, NSW & QLD PwC has been an employer of choice for a number of years. Dropping down from first place in 2017 & 2018. Flexible working arrangements and generous parental leave make PwC a good career choice.

7. CIMIC
CIMIC employ more than 50,000 individuals in more than 20 countries. The projects they work on are pushing the boundaries of engineering for the better, and their international reach means that its employees often have the opportunity to work on projects overseas.

8. Deloitte Australia
The company’s vision is to be “the most inspiring firm to work with — for its people, its clients and its communities,”. Flexible working arrangements, good maternity & paternity leave and regular health assessments are just some of the employee benefits on offer.

9. Salesforce
Offices across three major Australian cities — Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney — from where it employs staff across all of its business functions. Salesforce offers free food during lunch, training programs and has a focus on their employees achieving a balanced lifestyle.

10. Amazon
The Sydney hub is driven by Amazon’s four principles: customer obsession, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. Moving up the ranks to join the list of Australia’s top 10 companies this year.
