About the Role

The  Team Leader People and Payroll Services position is a critical role in helping to enable council to deliver exceptional services to the community of Central Coast.  You would be joining Council at an incredibly exciting time. The role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work being conducted by the People Services and Payroll teams and is responsible for the operational work requirements for timely and accurate end-to-end payroll processing for Council’s employees ensuring adherence to relevant terms, conditions, Awards, contracts, and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities of the role include providing day to day operational leadership to a high performing team of professionals. You will lead the on-time delivery of the payroll function at Council as well as overseeing employee support queries, ensuring timely and effective first point resolution.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven experience in a similar role within Local Government or working within large and complex organisations and leading professional teams. You will also have proven experience in leveraging technology and best practices to optimise functional operations. In addition, you will have tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, HR or a relevant field or demonstrated solid experience in a similar role.
  
As would be expected, strong communication skills are a must together with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across the organisation to build strong relationships to drive outcomes that add value to the organisation and community.
