A major Utilities provider is seeking a Senior Project Manager to deliver two concurrent lifecycle upgrade initiatives within its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and market systems environments.
The scope includes:
- Meter Data Management System Upgrade: Overseeing the lifecycle upgrade of a market-facing metering platform and its associated market transaction suite.
- Network Management System Upgrade: Managing upgrades to smart metering Network Management Systems (NMS) and supporting sensor data applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale infrastructure and application integration programs, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.
- Manage multi-stream delivery with high interdependencies across business process, technology infrastructure, and application layers.
- Work collaboratively with test, development, and operational teams to ensure seamless integration and release planning.
- Maintain all standard PM deliverables, including, Financial and budget tracking, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), Project planning and scheduling, Stakeholder communication and governance reporting
- Proactively address change impacts across process and systems, ensuring business readiness and stakeholder alignment.
- Navigate complex regulatory and operational requirements in a highly governed energy environment.
- Proven success in delivering time-critical projects in the electricity distribution or utilities domain.
- Strong background in technology delivery, including large-scale infrastructure upgrades and application lifecycle management.
- Understanding of metering technologies, AMI Network Management Systems (NMS), and Distributed Energy Management platforms.
- Prior experience with ITRON platforms, IEE, UIQ, MTS, SIQ
- Experience managing multi-stream projects with overlapping dependencies and business impacts.
- Strong capability across all aspects of project delivery including financials, governance, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
- Ability to work across vendor, internal IT, and business teams to ensure aligned, on-track delivery.
- Understanding of Energy Market Transaction Gateways and related compliance requirements.
- Formal certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies.
