A leading utility provider is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead two high-priority operational technology initiatives supporting distributed network operations and control room environments:
- Electronic-Log Replacement Project – Deliver a new, modernised work permit and trouble order management system to replace an obsolete platform, improving compliance, field communication, and operational safety.
- Alarm Management Enhancement Project – Rationalise and improve the alarm management environment in line with industry best practices, reducing alarm fatigue and increasing control room efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
E-Log Replacement:
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a new work permit and trouble order system, ensuring integration with existing field and control room workflows.
- Replace legacy e-log infrastructure with a scalable, standards-compliant platform.
- Ensure alignment with organisational safety protocols, compliance requirements, and operational readiness.
- Oversee vendor management, system design, deployment, change enablement, and training.
- Deliver alarm reduction and rationalisation solutions aligned with industry best practice for control room systems.
- Engage stakeholders across operational technology, engineering, and control desks to improve alarm quality and prioritisation.
- Coordinate technical delivery across teams and vendors, ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
- Track and report against KPIs including alarm rate reduction, standing alarms, and operator response improvement.
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience, ideally within Utilities, Energy, or Operational Technology environments.
- Proven ability to deliver projects involving Control Room Systems, Safety-Critical Applications, or Alarm Management platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Work Permit Systems, field operations, and safety compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and cross-functional leadership.
- Proficient in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and structured delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
- Relevant certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) preferred.
