The Role
A major component of the Airports Infrastructure is a $600M+ investment is in the Ground Transport Portfolio. We are seeking a strategic leader to assume the role of Portfolio Manager - Ground Transport. This role is pivotal in the development and delivery of a capital works program averaging $70 million annually, and 2 major parking developments in the $250M - $300M range. Key to the success of the position will be the ability to partner with internal stakeholders to align ground transport infrastructure initiatives with BAC’s corporate strategy and business planning objectives. The successful candidate will lead a team of Development and Delivery Managers and be accountable for end-to-end portfolio management, encompassing strategic planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and the achievement of capital delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of the Ground Transport capital portfolio, ensuring alignment with BAC’s master plans and business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Parking and Transport team as a capital business partner, influencing the formulation of infrastructure needs and priorities.
- Oversee the development of robust business cases and lead investment governance processes on behalf of project sponsors.
- Manage a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on collaboration, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive optimisation across the portfolio to deliver business efficiencies and ensure value for investment.
- Ensure effective portfolio reporting, including performance monitoring, benefits realisation, risk identification, and mitigation.
- Facilitate the Portfolio Oversight Group to maintain strategic alignment and governance across all initiatives.
- Promote consistency in delivery standards, procedures, and best practice reporting in collaboration with other Portfolio Managers.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in portfolio/program management
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline is essential
- Extensive experience in the development and delivery of infrastructure projects including in areas such as business case development, capital investment planning, project delivery, governance, and risk management.
