Overview
  • Working Full-Time hours: Mon – Fri, 35hrs per week
  • Contract Period: to commence ASAP for 3-6 months approx.
  • Reason for vacancy: to cover an internal secondment
  • A handover/induction will be provided from the most recent incumbent
  • Paying: $90-$105 per hour + super (annual salary equivalent $150k + super approx.)
  • This is an agency temp role so you would not be entitled to sick/annual leave pay
  • Working for Central Coast Council, flexible/remote working arrangements can be accommodated, with some onsite presence needed in Wyong.
  
The Role
The Section Manager Corporate Planning and Reporting is responsible for leading the development of corporate strategy, demonstrating strong business and political acumen to solve complex strategic issues, improving service delivery and building strong internal and external networks.
  
Accountable for assisting management and staff to conduct Service Reviews and prepare Business Plans aligned to strategic, operational and community objectives. In addition, this role will provide day to day leadership to a team of professionals (5 staff) responsible for the delivery of various Corporate and Statutory planning and reporting activities.
  
 Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the team to achieve the Section’s objectives within agreed timeframes and budget.
  • Lead the Integrated Planning and Reporting activities, such as Community Strategic Plan, Resourcing Strategy (Workforce, Asset Management, Finance and IM&T), Delivery Program and Operational Plan, Quarterly Progress Reports, Annual Report and End of Term report.
  • Design and develop a framework and approach for strategic/operational business planning, to match the strengths and weaknesses with the opportunities and threats of the organisation with available resources.  
  • Prepare submissions to State and Federal Government as required.
  • Manage end to end delivery of Strategic Projects, as required.
  • Optimise business outcomes through initiating and developing long-term goals and plans to guide the work of the team in line with organisational objectives.
  
About You
To be considered you will bring:
  • Previous experience in a similar role working within Local Government (highly preferred), alternatively having worked within state or federal government.
  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining a business planning framework.
  • Experience managing the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects.
  • Previous leadership experience with the ability to develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus.
  • Experience liaising with and presenting to a diverse range of stakeholder groups including Senior Management.
