The role
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Operations, the Director will lead a large multidisciplinary team across estate planning, property management, capital works, maintenance and commercial operations.
Key priorities include:
- Setting and delivering UWA’s long-term estate, property and infrastructure strategy in alignment with the University’s 2030 vision.
- Overseeing major capital works and lifecycle asset planning across a complex, 24/7 operating environment.
- Driving operational excellence in maintenance, compliance, safety and service delivery.
- Leading cultural and operational transformation, embedding an integrated, commercially focused approach.
- Optimising commercial outcomes and partnerships while preserving service quality and enhancing student/staff experiences.
- Engaging effectively with government, industry and community stakeholders to enhance UWA’s reputation and opportunities.
We are seeking an accomplished executive with a proven track record in leading estate, infrastructure, property or commercial operations within a large and complex organisation. You will bring:
- Significant experience delivering large-scale capital works and managing high-value asset portfolios.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to optimise asset performance and negotiate major partnerships.
- Deep capability in strategic planning, governance, compliance and risk management.
- Demonstrated leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams and transformational change initiatives.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- A passion for shaping environments that inspire learning, research, innovation and community connection.
